Price Increase for 2008

This has been a tremendous year for Gunlocke as we continue to evolve our brand, grow our organization and serve our customers in more meaningful ways. For example, our Converge Conferencing collection launched at NeoCon won both Gold and Silver Awards and was selected as a finalist for the Best of NeoCon judging.

As you may be aware, costs for many of our key raw materials have continued to escalate over the past year. Although it is our culture at Gunlocke to relentlessly drive cost reduction initiatives in order to offset cost increases and ensure our products offer the greatest possible value, we are unable to offset all recent increases in costs.

Therefore, Gunlocke will be implementing targeted price increases on many Gunlocke products effective January 1st, 2008. All new prices are effective on order received after January 1, 2008.

Key dates for the price increase are:

  • Orders placed on or before December 31, 2007 and ship BY March 31, 2008
  • Orders placed on or before December 31, 2007 and ship AFTER March 31, 2008
  • Orders placed after December 31, 2007 will receive 2008 pricing

Gunlocke Products Achieve Scientific Certification Systems' Certification

Friday February 2, 2007

Gunlocke said Thursday that its Swivel Seating Alti GK2500 series; Porter Executive Swivel Seating GK2384 and GK2386 series; and Molti Side Seating GK9901, GK9903 and GK9921 series received the highest level - Gold - of indoor air quality certification awarded by Scientific Certification Systems' (SCS) Indoor Advantage air quality certification program. SCS's Indoor Advantage Gold demonstrates conformance with two levels of emissions standards: (1) (USGBC) LEED-CI Credit EQ4.5 Option B (systems furniture and seating) and BIFMA x 7.1 low-emitting office furniture and seating; and (2) the State of California 01350 Special Environmental Requirements and the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS); California 01350 / CHPS represent the most stringent standard in North America.

"Gunlocke strives to be a steward of the environment," said Ric Andersen, Gunlocke Vice President Sales and Marketing. Marketing.

"In meeting the highest standards set by the USGBC and receiving LEED credit in systems furniture and seating, we are making a significant commitment to improve Gunlocke's environmental performance, and will continue to do so."

In addition to the SCS Indoor Advantage Gold that was awarded, The Molti Side Seating GK9905, GK9907 and GK9925 series received SCS Indoor Advantage certification, the second-highest level of certification available. This level of certification demonstrates conformance with one level of emissions standards: (1) (USGBC) LEED-CI Credit EQ4.5 Option B (systems furniture and seating) and BIFMA x 7.1 low-emitting office furniture and seating.

SCS is a leading, third-party, independent organization for certifying environmental achievement in product manufacturing. Its program certifies results for individual product components, in addition to fully assembled products, for compliance with the indoor air quality emission requirements of Section 01350. It also provides detailed analysis of a comprehensive range of chemicals rather than a simple pass/fail for only the most common. This level of detail enables Gunlocke to identify opportunities to work with its suppliers to improve environmental performance along the entire supply chain.

"This testing approach also allows us to help designers and clients earlier in the design process - while they're evaluating products and finishes to specify," added Andersen. "Because we have component data, we can model the probable total emission rate of any unique combination of components and finishes for designers and clients to help them meet the most rigorous indoor air quality requirements."
